Hey I'm Aaron Sorenson, the Lead Pastor of The Highlands Church. My wife Kristin and I have been married seven years, have a 4 year old son named Jonas and a 2 year old daughter named Lany. We live in Delano with our black lab named Bella. I love music, food, good coffee, running, fishing, golfing, birding (not an easy thing to admit) and being outdoors. Come check out The Highlands! My wife and I would love the chance to meet you!

  • Brody EgEBERG

    Student Ministries Pastor

Hey! My name is Brody, and I have been a part of the The Highlands staff since 2016. I graduated from Crown College with a degree in Youth and Family Ministry and a minor in Biblical and Theological Studies. My responsibilities here at The Highlands include  leading our middle school ministry UNITE on Wednesday nights as well as our high school student volunteer ministry (The Highlands Servants or THS). My hearts desire for our students is to grow in, and experience a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. I am a die hard Minnesota sports fan, and my hobbies include hunting and fishing!

  • Amy Treptau

    director of operations

Hi there! My name is Amy and I’m the Director of Operations at The Highlands. I absolutely love my job and am grateful to be able to work alongside such an amazing staff and church family. I am blessed to serve The Highlands in the day to day and weekly operations of our church. My prayer is that as people interact with me, they see a faint reflection of the One who loves them with an everlasting love. Most Sundays you can find me at the information table - I find great joy in meeting new people and helping them get connected to our church. I feel like the luckiest girl on the planet being married to my husband, Kevin and we have three kids that we adore - Logan, Emma & Jack. I love life, laughter and anything that combines peanut butter and chocolate.

  • bryan royle

    worship director

Hey - I'm Bryan. I get the great privilege to walk with Jesus everyday, to worship Him with my life and to rest in the promise that He is in me and I am in Him. My hope is that you would know Jesus and that The Highlands would be a place of rest, community and genuine corporate worship. I just recently bought a house in Montrose. Other than worship on Sunday mornings, I enjoy creative metal work, creating music and discipling people to follow Jesus and learn creativity/skills.  I’m the founder of JustCause - a non profit that seeks to empower people in developing nations to develop skills while creating sustainable water and sanitation. I look forward to meeting you; I’m so glad you are here!

  • Melissa Noreen

    Elementary director

Hi! I’m Melissa, otherwise known as “Mel”. I have the privilege of being the Elementary Director here at The Highlands.  I am a teacher at heart with a degree in Elementary Education and Bible from Northwestern University.  I have a wide variety of experience working with children, but my favorite part has always been teaching them about God’s great love for them.  Three of my favorite things are my husband Adam, who I’ve been married to for 11 years, and my two boys Jackson (6) and Jace (3).  Some of my other favorite things are music, dancing, being outdoors, playing games, and laughing as much as possible.  I look forward to being able to connect with you and your family!

  • Lynn Hanson

    Children's ministry admin

Hi! My name is Lynn and my job as Children's Ministry Admin is a gift! For a few hours a week I am privileged to work alongside the The Highlands staff, supporting the Children's Ministry Directors by completing tasks that may take them away from time with children and their families. I enjoy being the hands and feet, helping prepare for programs and lessons that assist parents in training up their children in the way of the Lord. My husband Steve and I enjoy spending time with our two sons, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. We fell in love with this church community when our oldest son's family introduced us to The Highlands. Appreciating the four seasons in Minnesota, my hobbies include the outdoors: kayaking, biking, hiking, and cross country skiing are some of my favorites. Colossians 3:23 is one of my best-loved verses: "Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord..."
